Today, German blackened death-doom band GREH release a new single titled "Summoning Aversion". With 'Summoning Aversion,' we give you a first glimpse into our upcoming album, 'The Tyranny of Expectations' (Release: Early 2027), on which we are currently working. This time we’ve moved away from the doom influences, replacing them with black metal and atmospheric drones. The song is about the unleashing of malicious, repressed emotions and their psychosomatic effects. Bottled-up anger, disappointment, and accumulated mistrust result in a deep, supposedly protective aversion to others and the world, which ultimately turns against one’s own body and mind until one can only despise oneself. GREH is a new band of Gjero Krsteski (guitar / ex. HELLGREASER), Maurice Müller (drums / HARD STRIKE, MILAN) and Martin Kocula (vocals / GRAU) from Germany. After Gjero left HELLGREASER, he founded GREH. First in 2022 as a one-man project and in 2023 as a full-fledged band. On March 31, 2023, the digital debut EP "Reversion Of The Repressed" was released with five songs, which stylistically represent a mixture of black and death metal with doom elements, combining sadness and heaviness with groove and dissonance. The band has supported bands like: Arkona, Firtan, Morast, Fit for an Autopsy, Ophis, Hexis, Bewitcher, Iron Walrus, Glare Of The Sun and has been headlining shows in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands since 2023, gaining a legion of fans in the process.
