Fuck, finally something that doesn't feel like it's trying to be "nu-thrash" or whatever. These Seattle vets (Himsa, Lair of the Minotaur, Trial guys) just went straight for the throat with old-school heavy/thrash that actually has balls. No 'sweet' vocals, no djent chugs, no trendy breakdowns - just riffs that hit like a brick and Rob Ropkin barking like it's still 1987.
"Scarred In Fate" is the one that got me hooked first - Anthrax-y bark over mid-tempo groove that builds into these anthemic shouts. "Steel Demise" is a pure velocity, neck-snap speed, thunder drums, the whole thing feels like it could’ve been on a lost Bay Area demo from '86. "Engraved Under Skin" and "Unleash the Storm" keep that energy without getting samey, and "Ashes and Bone" has this killer hook that sticks after one listen. The rest of the songs are great as well!
It's not trying to reinvent anything, which is why it works. No overproduced gloss, no forced complexity - just solid, memorable songs played with fire. If you're burned out on modern thrash trying too hard, this is the antidote. Might not blow minds if you're only into boundary-pushers, but for straight-up heavy riff worship it's damn solid.
