Some bands spend years obsessing over their first release. LEADFEATHER didn’t bother with that. They hit the studio, plugged in, and went for it. And you can tell. This EP sounds raw, like a band sweating it out in a packed venue, not sitting in a sterile recording booth nitpicking over every detail.
If you like your rock heavy and bluesy, this one’s got some real weight behind it. The guitars snarl, the drums hit hard without feeling too precise, and the vocals have just the right amount of grit - like someone who’s spent years howling over a loud amp with no earplugs. It’s messy in all the right ways.
What really sticks with me is the feel of it. The low end hums like an engine running too hot, the solos cut through like they’ve got something to prove, and there’s this loose, teetering-on-the-edge energy that makes the whole thing exciting. You don’t get that from a band playing it safe.
If there’s one thing that doesn’t totally land, it’s that some parts feel a little familiar. But honestly, that’s part of the fun. Rock doesn’t need to be reinvented every time - it just needs to hit you in the chest. And this does.
