Austrian post rock and post metal outfit OUR CEASING VOICE proudly announces its signing to Argonauta Records, opening a new chapter for one of the most distinctive and evolving voices in Europe’s atmospheric heavy scene.
Founded in 2006 in Innsbruck, the band has long stood as a defining force within the Austrian underground, known for a sound that seamlessly intertwines evocative vocals, heavy guitar work, carefully crafted rhythms and the ever shifting tension between silence and noise. Across three full length albums and multiple EPs, OUR CEASING VOICE has continuously reshaped its identity, bringing its immersive and emotionally charged performances to stages across Europe, the UK and China.
From the cinematic and largely instrumental landscapes of their debut EP Steadied Stars in the Morphium Sky to the expanding emotional depth of When the Headline Hit Home and That Day Last November, the band has never ceased to explore new sonic territories. A defining turning point came in 2017 with the addition of vocalist Dominik Dörfler, whose raspy and deeply expressive low register voice became a cornerstone of Free Like Tonight, blending cinematic rock, dark ambient textures and alternative influences into a cohesive and haunting vision.
Now featuring Sebastian Obermeir on guitar, Markus Rappold on drums, Dominik Dörfler on vocals and Jakob Schuierer on bass, the band returns with renewed focus and a broader artistic scope, preparing to unveil their fourth full length album in fall 2026.
Commenting on the collaboration, the band shares:
Sebastian Obermeir (guitars): “2026 marks the 20th anniversary of Our Ceasing Voice. This might be a great opportunity to look back on the journey, and truth be told: while working on the upcoming album, we found ourselves reconnecting with some of our musical roots. At the same time, we are more than ready to step into the future with Argonauta Records as a partner. It certainly holds some new bittersweet melodies.”
Dominik Dörfler (vocals): “We are excited and thankful for this opportunity, especially as it has been some time since our last release. The new material is heavier, yet deeply rooted in the melancholy that defines Our Ceasing Voice. In that sense, it feels right at home with Argonauta Records.”
With the upcoming release, the band promises a powerful synthesis of post rock, post metal and alternative rock, where emotional weight meets dynamic intensity. Fans of Mark Lanegan, Caspian and Cult of Luna will find themselves drawn into a sound that is both intimate and expansive, dark yet profoundly human.
More details on the new album will be revealed soon. Stay tuned.
