Sacramento’s GRAVESHADOW have deftly been building a reputation in the metal realm the last decade through a series of solid releases and live appearances. Now it’s time to reflect back before the next steps forward. 2025 marks ten years since their debut album, ‘Nocturnal Resurrection,’ was released on CD and digital and it just seems prime time to acknowledge the notable first effort by releasing it on vinyl for the first time. Sept 12th M-Theory in cooperation with GRAVESHADOW make a limited 200 copies on nocturnal blue vinyl with personal liner notes from guitarist William Walker available in stores and online with that pre-order starting today at our webstore and other outlets http://lnk.to/graveshadow
“When I look back at the original release of ‘Nocturnal Resurrection’ it’s wild to think about everything… signing with management, recording was a huge learning experience, getting signed to an international label, getting one of my favorite vocalists on a song I wrote… This record opened up so many doors for GRAVESHADOW,” states guitarist William Walker. “If not for this record there would be no ‘Ambition’s Price’ or ‘The Uncertain Hour’ so take a trip back with us to where it all began…”
GRAVESHADOW have always mixed influences from the symphonic and gothic metal scenes along with elements of doom, thrash and epic progressive power metal. Hear the original efforts from the group, many of which are considered fan-favorites, such as the video tracks “Lycan Lust” https://youtu.be/fcliFiGOeiY?si=WsOFEuJtkli87270 and “Namesake” https://youtu.be/WIxvMG0MU5w?si=writadjoMkRivwlL and demanded to be performed live to this date. Hailed by Metal-Temple as an “epic melody of steel with a fusion of what we all love in metal,” it served as notice of a compelling new arrival.
Mixed/mastered by Emil Nodtveidt (Deathstars, Swordmaster) and featuring a guest vocal courtesy of Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear, Gamma Ray) alongside the group’s original singer Heather Michele (Helion Prime, Of Romulus) the album is a solid representation of a young band with a lot of potential, who continue to shine. The ’Nocturnal Resurrection’ album cycle included live touring with Anvil, Night Demon, Arkona, Sirenia and Threat Signal and laid the foundation of many more tours and festival appearances. In the meantime, GRAVESHADOW continue to finalize writings for a new album in 2026.
