NY-based progressive black metal project Amenspear is set to release its second full-length album "All My Gods Are Dying" on August 22, 2025. Tracks like the title track, "Dead Or Alive", and "Pearls Before Swine" will present Amenspear's alternative rock influence; "To Feed The Spirit" and "Haruspex" will sound familiar to fans of "Vaera" but with some increased death metal-isms; and "Our Lady Of Sorrows" and "The Letter" will show Amenspear's doomy and proggy side, with mournful guitars and multi-part vocal harmonies. It is an ambitious and varied album, every track is presenting something different. And it is just the beginning for what Amenspear hopes to accomplish in the future.

Amenspear is a progressive black metal project from New York. Founded in 2024 by Steve Vathis, who is the sole member, Amenspear's music is based in black metal but incorporates varied influences from progressive rock, alternative rock, death metal, and groove metal. The project released its debut album "Vaera" in September 2024, with six tracks of epic and thrashy black metal in the vein of bands like Absu, Moonsorrow, Darkthrone, Immortal. This was followed up by the "A Casket Of Relics" EP in March 2025, which was a single 26-minute long song, influenced by more progressive bands like Opeth, Agalloch, and Enslaved. Now Amenspear is set to release its second full length album "All My Gods Are Dying" on August 22, 2025, with the title track as a single forthcoming on August 6.
