Review of Decadence Incarnate - Eternal Rebellion

Gather round, you filthy heathens, because Eternal Rebellion from Gotland’s Decadence Incarnate is a four-track arse-kicker that’ll have you headbanging so hard your granny’s ghost files a noise complaint.

These Swedish nutters, cooked up in 2017’s smoky backrooms, don’t just strum guitars - they ram a spiked dildo of sound up the music world’s backside and laugh while it squirms. This EP’s a wild shag of melodic death metal, thrash, and metalcore, blended with the kind of raw energy that’d make a Viking blush and a priest faint.

From the opening howl, it’s like a bar brawl broke out in your skull - guitars slashing with riffs so sharp they could shave your bollocks, paired with melodies that cling like a lover you can’t shake. It’s got the ferocity of a pissed-off bear and the heart of a heartbroken sailor, all wrapped in a sound that’s equal parts chaos and craft. Think of it as if some Scandinavian metal gods got drunk, shagged a thrash band, and raised the kid in a furnace. It’s heavy enough to crack your ribs, yet there’s a soulful edge that sneaks in like a cheeky grope in a dark pub.The lyrics - they’re a drunken rant against the world’s crap - society’s chokehold, the fight to stand tall when everyone’s begging you to bend over, and the sheer guts it takes to be a rebel with a cause. It’s not some wanky poetry recital; it’s more like a pissed-off docker swinging a wrench at hypocrisy while roaring his defiance. You’ll feel the urge to kick down doors and tell the world to sod off, all while grinning like a lunatic.

The sound’s so tight it could choke a goat - guitars thrash and wail like they’re possessed, drums pound like a horny blacksmith at work, and the vocals growl like a hungover demon fresh from a bender. There’s a polish to it, sure, but it’s the kind that still smells of sweat and spilled ale. The whole thing flows like a proper punch-up, with every riff and beat building to a crescendo that’ll leave you breathless and horny for more.

This EP’s a middle finger to anyone who thinks metal should be tame. It’s a bloody riot, a call to arms for every misfit who’s ever wanted to flip the table on life’s bullshit. Decadence Incarnate have brewed a storm of sound that’s as much about breaking free as it is about breaking faces. Make it loud enough to wake the dead, let it tear through your veins, and revel in the glorious, messy chaos. If you’re not sweating, swearing, or smashing something by the end, you’re doing it wrong. This is metal with its trousers down and its fists up - pure, unadulterated brilliance from a band that doesn’t give a toss. Dig in, you dirty bastards!
