Those New England nutters in Death Rattle - been slugging it out forever. Toured with Hatebreed, Cattle Decapitation, the whole damn circus - four U.S. trips, two Japan jaunts, Mayhem Fest, you name it. Now they’ve dumped The Moral Chokehold after four years of blood, sweat, and probably some dodgy kebabs.
Kevin Billingslea - Lamb of God guy - did the production. Jens Bogren - Amon Amarth’s riff god - mixed it. Tamer Azab’s art looks like a demon’s wet dream. That’s it.Groove metal with a hard-on. Metalcore’s kicking its arse. New Wave American Heavy Metal’s got its tongue down its throat. Riffs slam like a pub fight gone wrong. Drums thump like a jackhammer in a porno. Vocals - some bear’s been chewing on broken glass and loving it. Got a groove so dirty I’d dance with it in a strip club. They messed with melodies, and it’s like, “Screw it, let’s get fucked up”. Sounds like Pantera after a bender, Killswitch Engage with a grudge fuck, Soulfly howling at the moon - all in a sweaty pile.
Loud as hell. Rude as a drunk uncle. Ballsy as a bull in a china shop. Blast it, down a beer, punch a wall. These guys have been through the wringer - hear it in every grunt. Not changing the world, just smashing your Friday night to bits. Crank it, you mad bastards.
