MYTHRAEUM Release Playthrough Video For "Crown and Sepsis"

To celebrate the one-year anniversary of ‘Oblivion Aeternam’ San Diego-based Black Metal aggregation MYTHRAEUM unveil a playthough video for the album track “Crown and Sepsis.” But this isn’t just your usual guitarist in his bedroom one angle, one-take guitar playthrough clip. Bordering on more of a music video MYTHRAEUM keeps all of the intrigue, mysticism and foggy atmosphere of the group’s imagery and live show. WATCH HERE https://youtu.be/Qeu9FJT5ZCw

"’Crown and Sepsis’ is the second song from our album ‘Oblivion Aeternam’ and is one of the most technically demanding songs we've ever written,” explains guitarist Wraith. “With lyrical themes of extravagance and depravity, opulence and deformity, ‘Crown and Sepsis’ highlights some of our most neoclassical guitar work in a dingy cacophonous setting.

MYTHRAEUM retain all of the benchmarks Black Metal fans have come to love about the genre, but the collective aim to build upon those influences with some shred- and folk-inspired guitarwork to elevate the track and making it a tad more interesting than the rudimentary traditions.  The album was recorded MYTHRAEUM and Ethan Stouder (Fadrait, Unidad Trauma), with mix and mastering by J-F Dagenais (Kataklsym, Malevolent Creation, Exodus) and is ripe for fans of classic black metal like Emperor, Dimmu Borgir, and Dark Funeral as well as taking inspiration from groups like Wintersun and Kalmah. ‘Oblivion Aeturnum’ was released on digital, as well as Digipak CD w/booklet and a special 2LP pressing, limited to 300 copies of pure denim colored vinyl, adding MYTHRAEUM’s 2023 EP ‘Halls of Mythras’ as a bonus for side 4. Order HERE https://lnk.to/mythraeum

Formed a few years back, MYTHRAEUM spawned from the mind of guitarist Wraith (Alonzo Larios) who assembled some of San Diego’s finest metal musicians who shared the same spark of mysticism and misanthropic musings which befell the black metal scene in Scandinavia several decades earlier. These young musicians had ambitions of crafting a brand of black metal that dared to push the musical boundaries by blending crushing heaviness with harrowing technicality, and ethereal melodies in an alchemical process which weaved esoteric myths of nature, gods, love, hate, death, and rebirth.

Wraith alongside Hagalaz (Ben Wilson) on drums, Spectre (Nicholas Lepisto) on bass, Algiz (Zach Simsay) on guitar, and Plague (Anthony Vivoli) on vocals combined into a new energetic and driving force playing shows including the Wacken Metal Battle victory and the EP release, ‘Halls of Mythras,’ featuring the songs “Where Roots Refuse To Cling” https://youtu.be/w1qE-e0JUgY and the live clip “Terrestrial Despair” shot at Wacken Open Air https://youtu.be/vS2QfPZcTzg
