MOMOVUDU interview

Hi MOMOVUDU! How have you been?

We have been very good, getting ready for a lot of shows in 2025.

Can you tell us more about “momovudu” album?

The debut album is drenched in punk angst and political turmoil, psychedelic safe spaces and heavy grooves laced with a blues feel that is essential to the band.

Did any particular event inspire you to write this album? Where did you find the inspiration for the songs and lyrics?

Nothing inspired me to write the album, I can't not write. If I have a guitar, I write songs. The songs are what they are and I have little to do with the direction they take. They usually come quite fast. The lyrics are inspired by a post apocalyptic view of mankind's struggle to move away from earth and destroy other habitats.

Are there any plans to release a new music video for one of the tracks?

We would love to do a music video but right now we have no plans to do so.

Can you describe the recording and writing process for the album?

Our recording process for the album is pretty simple. We like to record live, Drums, bass, rhythm guitar and vocals. We laid the structure down first then went in and added extra rhythm tracks and solos and another vocal track. The album was done in 10 hrs of actual studio time. All solos are improvised and first takes for the most part. We like to have a live feel on everything. Fresh and expressive is our goal, we hope to have achieved that.

What was it like working with the ARGONAUTA Records, and how did that relationship develop?

Working with Gero and Argonauta has been very easy and came together about as quickly as the band. It takes time to finalize things and make announcements but we basically knew Gero was right for us when the talks began. We look forward to working with him in the future and selling some records with Argonauta.

To what extent did each musician influence the album?

The first album was mostly Matt's influence as he started the band but our next album will have more writing from the band as a whole. We do have some mini tours planned this year, a southern tour of the US, Rocky mountain tour and others but no plans yet for Europe, it will probably be 2026 before we can schedule anything there.

Are there any plans to go on tour?

The only thing on our horizon is supporting the album by playing as many shows as possible and getting back in the studio. We are already headed back to the studio in January to record with Kent Stump at Crystal Clear in Dallas, TX. Hoping for material ready to release early in 2026.
