Review of Shake The Temple - Shake The Temple

Formed in 2018 Australian band Shake The Temple released their self-titled debut full-length album 3 years later in 2021 via Sliptrick Records. Album includes new tracks as well as previously unreleased songs that lead singer John Joseph wrote and toured with in previous bands including The Wild Highs and TANK (not to be confused with British Tank).

The music on the album is a decent hard'n'heavy inspired by Thin Lizzy, Kiss, Iron Maiden etc. You see, a regular list of bands =). Shake The Temple played not in old classical way mentioned bands but added some 'modern' and even some glorious NWOBHM vibes into the music so we cannot say it sounds like 'tribute band' which used everything done before what makes their music more listenable. Actually, each musician handles his instrument pretty well, sure straightforward raging guitars, 'bouncing' bass lines, powerful drumming and good clear vocals.

Typically made with various tempos Shake The Temple sounds like a good new band into your heavy metal face. The music is catching, enough melodic and even sometimes a little bit 'aggressive' if I can say so. Is it full of drive? Yes, you definitely will headbang while listening to this album. My personal hits are The Devil's Approach and the Driven! Aussie rock metal scene still can kick ass!
