1. Hi! First of all, for those unfamiliar
with your band: what is Walk in Darkness about?
Walk in Darkness is not just a musical project — it is a journey.
We are a faceless band because what matters is not who we are, but the
universal meaning of the themes we explore and what we aim to communicate and
evoke. Humanity is at twilight, and with it the reason and values that once
defined it. A new world appears on the horizon — a world of machines and
algorithms, without magic or the possibility of true choice, action, or
reaction. A world striving for perfection while forgetting that beauty and
poetry live only in imperfection.
We do not write for the nostalgic, but for those still seeking a horizon to
remain human, even when no land is in sight.
2. What can you tell us about Walk in
Darkness’ latest album, Gods Don’t Take Calls?
It tells the story of an era in which even the gods have stopped answering.
We move through storms, leave behind the ruins of the West, and sail eastward,
chasing a wound in time through which the light might enter again — toward the
sun, which always rises in the East. Each song is a step in this spiritual
crossing — not toward glory, but toward awareness.
3. When will your fans be able to hear new
music after Gods Don’t Take Calls? Is there any news about a new album?
Creation is like the tide: it withdraws, then rises again — but it never truly
stops. I always write; I never stop, because I must. When the storm is ready,
you will hear it.
4. Have you received enough positive feedback
on your music so far?
Yes, we have a consolidated base of followers.
But what truly matters to us is when someone writes: “Your music helped me
walk through the night.”
That is the only review we hold dear.
5. You’ve been active for almost 11 years:
what motivates you to keep making music?
We continue because we still feel we have something to say.
Although, it’s been 10 years — not 11. A single year can change everything.
6. How easy (or difficult) is it to play
metal and maintain a stable lineup in your area of Italy? Is it possible to
make a living from album sales?
Playing metal is not difficult. Staying faithful to your vision is.
We don’t live from music — we live with music, which is better.
Our lineup is stable because it is not based on roles, but on a shared horizon.
7. How did you manage to build such a solid
formation?
By removing the mirror.
When you no longer see your own face, you begin to see the others more clearly.
8. If you had to introduce Walk in Darkness
to a new listener, which track from Gods Don’t Take Calls would you
choose and why?
Probably “You Who Dream.”
Because it speaks to those who still raise their gaze, even when the skies are
sealed.
But perhaps the best answer is: choose the song that resonates most within
you.
9. Was there a particular band that made
you say, “That’s it, I’m going to start a metal band!”?
Personally, I am a descendant of Pink Floyd, but with a metal
vocation.
Floyd are not metal — but metal is the most fitting dimension for our words.
10. Any final words for Iron Backstage
readers?
Do not move away from the storm — walk through it.
And if one day you find yourselves without a horizon — look for us.
We will be there.
And when nothing else remains, we shall
listen to the music of Walk in Darkness.
Thank you for your time.
Thank you. Every question is a door. Some doors lead East.
